Working Holiday visa :

I went to Australia as a working holiday maker. Although I started my journey with AU$3000 T/C and no return airline ticket, I didn’t have any connections in Australia at all. At first I had been at a loss what to do, but I was lucky enough to find the factory job. I could stay in Australia for a year earning my living expenses for working at the gas heating appliance manufacturing corporation. I was an only Japanese there and it was a good experience for me to be able to use English in the ordinary life.

As I could save some money for traveling, I bought the used motor bike ‘ YAMAHA XT250 ‘ and started traveling the half round of the eastern part of Australia. On my way traveling, I run short of my money and I could find jobs at farms for picking cherries. In Australia, there are ‘ caravan parks ‘ for automobile travelers in every town. At that time, it cost me only $10 at night to pitch the tent and I could use the shower, the toilet and the coin laundry. It took four months to travel and I could run 13000km distance by myself. I was lucky enough to be able to meet some good people on my journey. Those days in Australia were ‘ Memories to treasure for a life time ‘.

For those who are trying to be working holiday makers, I’ll be able to support you from the taxation point of view.

For foreign working holiday makers in Japan, there might be some tax treaties between Japan and your country about withholding tax rate limits from your earnings.
